State Farm Insurance Service* Center
3737 State Ave.
Kansas City, KS
The project challenge was integration of a major automobile insurance company claims service center onto an existing fast food restaurant site. The facility was designed to include accommodations for office suites, training/testing rooms, a community use room, and a vehicle damage inspection bay. Security and property issues were both important design considerations, in addition to presenting a fresh image to the community from an established insurance company.

“Who ever said good design can’t be economical as well? As a design professional myself, I know how important it is to create something that you can be proud of. Even though in the past we have produced many designs from within our office, I now must admit that your design for our Kansas City Service Center is my personal favorite among our Service Center buildings.

It is my favorite for two reasons. First, because it is truly a unique and aesthetically pleasing building. It is a progressive, even fun design, while at the same time I believe it conveys the conservative and serious nature of the services we provide at this location. Second, and most important, is that hidden within the excellent design is a clever use of economical materials and construction methods. I expect employees and visitors will be delighted to enter the building, and may not even realize that we have done our best to spend policy dollars wisely.”
